Our County

Our County

Lancashire North West Girlguiding provides a safe space for leaders and girls to challenge themselves, try new activities and build lasting friendships.

The county stretches down from the Cumbria border; beginning at Silverdale and running between the M6 and the A6 down to Chorley. There are 7 divisions in total and 25 districts. The county is a mixture of rural villages, market towns and 2 cities, Lancaster and Preston, which ensures a very diverse population.

As part of the leading charity for girls and women across the whole of the UK, Lancashire North West Girlguiding have been providing a welcoming space for girls to be themselves for over 100years. Thanks to a team of over 769 volunteers we run 236 units across all age ranges, bringing Guiding to over 3200 girls. We are proud to welcome all girls and through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure encourage girls to be themselves, make a difference in their community, together being a powerful force for good.

As the County Team for Lancashire North West we have the pleasure of supporting all the wonderful leaders that make Guiding happen in the County. As individuals we have held many roles in Girlguiding previously but came together as a team in November 2024 with the shared aim to support and develop girls and women. We are passionate about growing our County to ensure every girl aged 4-18 in our area can join us.

Lancashire North West Girlguidng is a great place to get involved with Girlguiding for adults and girls. If you would like to be part of the fun please register you interest here.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
